Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how ss0314 ("we", "us", or "our") handles user information in the virtual pet app "Petopia" (the "App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about the data we collect.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you first launch the App, an anonymous account is automatically created via Supabase authentication. No personal information is required for this process. If you choose to sign in with Apple, we receive a unique identifier from Apple to link your account. We do not receive your name or email address through this process unless you explicitly choose to share them.

1.2 Device Identifier

The App generates a random identifier (UUID) and stores it locally on your device. This identifier is used solely for analytics purposes and is not linked to your personal identity.

1.3 Device Token (APNs Push Token)

To maintain Dynamic Island / Live Activity functionality, the App sends your APNs Push Token and a locally generated install ID to our server (Supabase). These are used exclusively for restarting Live Activities and are not used to identify you personally.

1.4 Usage Analytics

We collect anonymized usage data to improve the App experience. This includes events such as session starts and durations, feature usage (e.g., tab switches, purchases), and app version and environment information. Analytics data is associated with the randomly generated device identifier and does not include personally identifiable information.

1.5 Game Progress & Coin Balance

Your game progress, including owned animals, active pet selections, costume data, and coin balance, is stored on our server (Supabase) to enable data persistence and cross-device continuity when signed in with Apple.

1.6 Purchase Information

In-app purchases (coins and premium items) are processed through Apple's StoreKit 2. Purchase transactions are verified via our server to grant the corresponding items. We do not directly access your credit card or payment information — this is managed entirely by Apple.

1.7 Local Settings Data

Settings such as display preferences, onboarding completion status, and widget configurations are stored locally on your device (UserDefaults). This data is not transmitted externally.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

The App does not collect the following:

  • Name, email address, or other personal contact information (unless voluntarily shared via Sign in with Apple)
  • Location data
  • Advertising identifiers (we do not serve ads)
  • Contacts or address book data
  • Photos, camera, or microphone data

3. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

  • Supabase: Anonymous authentication, server-side data storage (game progress, coin balance), analytics event storage, and Live Activity push token management
  • Apple App Store: App distribution and in-app purchase processing
  • Sign in with Apple: Optional account linking for data persistence

4. Data Sharing with Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties, except where required by law.

5. Data Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated server-side data through the "Delete Account" option in the App's settings. This permanently removes your account, game progress, coin balance, and all data stored on our servers.

You may also reset local settings from within the App. Note that purchase history is managed by Apple and will persist after a reset — previously purchased items can be restored.

Uninstalling the App will delete all locally stored data from your device.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is designed for all ages (4+) and does not contain violent or adult content. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The anonymous account system ensures that children can use the App safely without providing any personal information.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If significant changes are made, we will notify you within the App or on this page.
